The theme of the 2024 Summit, Balance and Belonging, resonated throughout the summit, with activities designed to empower and connect the women in the group.
The event kicked off with a volunteer service project at Feeding Tampa Bay, where 15 WISE members assisted local residents in shopping for donated grocery items in the on site Community Market. This act of giving back set the tone for a summit focused on both personal and professional growth.
Day two immersed participants in workshops and discussions designed to address the theme of Balance and Belonging. An inspiring breakfast featured three female members of the Kimball Electronics board of directors, Michele A. M. Holocomb, PhD, Colleen C. Repplier, and Holly A. Van Deursen, who offered valuable insights and mentorship. A group book discussion delved into How Women Rise by Sally Helgesen, followed by an exploration of "Imposter Syndrome" led by the summit leader, Samantha Knies.
Networking opportunities with KETA managers further strengthened connections within the organization. A tour of the KETA plant provided a glimpse into the company's operations and fostered a sense of belonging. The summit concluded with a guided meditation session, promoting peace and well-being.
"Our summit gave us the opportunity to learn, meet, talk, hug (only if approved), and connect to each other in a way that allowed us to grow and support each other for empowerment," said ERG leader, Sadina Neal, expressing gratitude for the support of Kimball Electronics and the dedicated team who organized the event. "I'm so proud of my team and truly thankful for the opportunity and support from everyone, our leadership team, and the female members of our board of directors."
This inaugural WISE Summit serves as a testament to our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. By prioritizing Balance and Belonging, WISE empowers its members to achieve their full potential, both personally and professionally.
